So I had to go and get my bangs trimmed today, and got there (for once in my life) a little bit early, and right around
the time my stomach started to grumble for lunch. With my ten minutes to spare, I ran to Kaka’ako Kitchen at the end of Ward Center and got myself a very fresh, yummy and healthy seared ahi (tuna) wrap. Inside the tomato tortilla was a nice portion of fish, avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and what tasted like a wasabi mayo sauce…it even included a side of nalo greens with a very tasty dressing I might add! Mmmmm
Kaka’ako kitchen is known for their gourmet plate lunches, and they use fresh, local ingredients whenever possible — I suggest you try it sometime (the home-made desserts look amazing), but I would avoid using their bathrooms if I were you….
Do It Yourself:
If you wanted to re-create this wrap it’s super easy to do. First, buy some fresh ahi (or whatever fish you want to use), rub it in blackening seasonings, and if you are using ahi, grill or cook it in a pan for just a quick minute or until the outside is just seared. Cut up the fish and place it in a tortilla with the veggies of your choice. To make the wasabi mayo, just mix a little wasabi into about 1/4 cup of mayo, a little at a time until you have the right flavor (just watch out, it can get very spicy very quickly!). Spread as much of the mayo as you want on your tortilla before wrapping it up. Enjoy!

YUM! Since I don’t plan to come to Oahu anytime soon, I guess I will have to try the Do It Yourself version!
